Our Story

A Sanctuary Built From Love.

Ever Tomorrow Farm began with a simple belief: every animal deserves a safe place to call home for life.

What started as a small rescue became a lifelong commitment to animals who had nowhere else to go. Today, the farm provides permanent sanctuary to rescued animals while working to create a culture where compassion extends to all species.

Ever Tomorrow Farm is a sister organization of Kindness Empire, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a kinder world through animal rescue, vegan advocacy, humanitarian relief, and education.

Our Own Tomorrow

In September 2024, Hurricane Helene tore through Western North Carolina and took our home with it. The house that made this sanctuary possible was gone almost overnight, but leaving wasn't an option, our animal family needed us here. So we moved into a camper right on the land to stay close to them and keep their care going without interruption. We're now in the final stretch of the RenewNC recovery process, waiting on approval for a new home. Until that approval comes, strict rules mean we can't rebuild yet. So we wait, we plan, and we hold on to hope.

One of our long-term volunteers, Nathan, is a big part of that hope. After nearly five years as a volunteer, he stepped up to run the farm day to day. The animals already knew him and trusted him, and he'll tell you that caring for them has given him a whole new sense of purpose. The camper we purchased for Dorothy and Nathan was a lifeline. Since moving in over a year ago, they have made huge strides in improving their own lives.

The farm can't host tours or volunteers right now because of the damage. We can't wait to open our gates again. Until then, thank you for believing in our tomorrow.

Our Commitment

Every Life Matters.

The animals who live at Ever Tomorrow Farm are not temporary residents. They are family.

Our commitment is lifelong. That means providing nutritious food, veterinary care, safe shelter, enrichment, companionship, and the freedom to simply be themselves.

Ever Tomorrow Farm is a lifelong sanctuary filled with happy, deeply loved dogs, cats, goats, pigs, and chickens. Some arrived frightened, unsure of what safety even felt like. Today, they spend their days lounging in the sun, exploring the land, and settling into the easy, unhurried rhythms of a place built just for them. Every one of them gets exactly what they need: good food, gentle care, and as much love as we can give.

The Faces Behind Every Tomorrow.

Ever Tomorrow Farm is a home for animals and for the people who care for them. Every life here has a story. These are a few of the family members you're helping care for.

Our Human Family

Nathan

Our primary caregiver, Nathan first came to us as a volunteer nearly five years ago. The animals already knew him and trusted him, and when he stepped up to run the farm day to day, it gave him a whole new sense of purpose. He is the reason every animal here is fed, cared for, and safe, every single day.

Dorothy

Nathan's mom, Dorothy, lives here alongside him. The camper we were able to provide for the two of them was a lifeline. Since moving in over a year ago, they have made huge strides in improving their own lives, right alongside the animals they help care for.

Meet Some Of Our Farm Family
Leon, pig

Leon

Leon joined us after I spent several days helping care for more than 80 pigs who had been surrendered in a heartbreaking hoarding case in central North Carolina. Leon was the smallest and most unusual looking pig in the group, and it appeared that his early life of malnutrition had affected his growth. He was painfully shy, but there was something about this little guy that made him impossible to forget. I went to help those pigs with no intention of coming home with one of my own. But Leon had other plans. Before long, he was here, slowly discovering that he was safe and that he had a whole new life ahead of him. And then he found Oliver. From the very beginning, Leon and Oliver became inseparable. Today, Leon is still Oliver's constant companion and pig shadow, and the two are rarely far from one another. Watching this once frightened little pig grow into a happy, confident member of our family has been a beautiful part of his story, and one that we hope will continue for many tomorrows to come.

Chloe, cat

Chloe

Chloe is the bravest soul I know. She came to us after being found by a local family, pregnant, frightened, and in very poor condition. I took her in hoping to give her a safe place to recover, never knowing just how profoundly this little cat would change me. The weeks that followed were some of the hardest I have ever experienced. Chloe was not healthy enough to be a mother, and ultimately lost all of her babies while coming frighteningly close to losing her own life. There are parts of her story that are still difficult to talk about, but somehow, through all of it, Chloe kept going. She survived, she healed, and slowly, she began to discover that there was still happiness waiting for her. Today, Chloe is one of the most beloved members of our family. She has a little blep that makes her tongue pop out and sometimes gets adorably cross-eyed, giving her a look that is completely and unmistakably Chloe. But what makes her truly special is the strength behind those big eyes. She taught me that even after unimaginable heartbreak, there can still be joy, connection, and a beautiful tomorrow. It should come as no surprise that Chloe is the alpha cat around here. Everyone seems to hold her in high regard, and honestly, I do too. Chloe is a superstar, and I feel incredibly lucky that she chose me to walk beside her.

Oliver (Ollie), pig

Oliver (Ollie)

Oliver was part of my story before I ever imagined starting my own sanctuary. In 2015, he was just a tiny piglet, not quite two months old and weighing only about ten pounds, living in an apartment with the woman who had adopted him. She loved him enough to recognize that he needed more than apartment life could offer, and when she began looking for a place where he could have room to grow and simply be a pig, Oliver found his way to me. I had no idea then where our journey would lead. Oliver simply fell out of the sky and into my life, and from the very beginning, it felt as though we were meant to find each other. Two years later, when I decided to create a sanctuary, Oliver was already here. He became part of our original family and has been here for every chapter of the story ever since. Today, Oliver is the last remaining member of that original crew (cats Piper and Oskar are also long timers). That little ten pound piglet has grown into a sweet old man who is wise, charming, and much more mellow than he used to be. These days, he spends most of his time with Leon, his best friend and devoted pig shadow.

Luna, cat

Luna

Luna is one of the silliest members of our family, and she has never met a conversation she didn't want to join. She came to us with her mom, Esme, and her brother, Nova, after a member of our community found the little family. The kittens were only a few months old, but they were healthy, happy, and ready to begin their new lives. Luna has grown into perhaps our most vocal cat. She loves to talk simply because she can, and if you happen to say her name, be prepared to hear all about it. She is also our little adventurer, which keeps us on our toes because Luna occasionally decides that life would be more exciting outside the camper. But for all her curiosity, Luna is happiest when she is surrounded by the people and animals she loves. She is a wonderful cuddler, gets along naturally with everyone, and remains especially close to her mom, Esme. Her relationship with her brother Nova may have changed a little as they've grown up, but Luna has plenty of love to give and is very much enjoying every tomorrow she gets to spend here.

Pinto, goat

Pinto

Pinto has always been the extrovert of the family. Since 2021 our Nigerian Dwarf goat has made sure that life here is never too quiet, with plenty to say and an unmistakable talent for making himself heard. Pinto came to us after a kind woman asked if we could give him and his two siblings, Luna and Lupini, a home. Their lives were in danger, and the thought of these three beautiful goats being killed simply because of where they were born was heartbreaking. Thankfully, their story took a different turn, and all three came to call our farm home. For four years, Pinto, Luna, and Lupini were inseparable. When we lost Luna and Lupini, we worried about how Pinto would adjust without his two lifelong companions. But Pinto, being Pinto, didn't let anything keep him down for long. He settled right into life with his pig and chicken friends and quickly reminded us that this boy has plenty of personality to go around. Today, Pinto is a very happy and very opinionated member of our family. He loves attention, loves being the center of things, and has embraced his new friendships with the same enthusiasm he has always brought to life. And who knows? Maybe Pinto's tomorrow will include another goat friend someday.

Nova, cat

Nova

Nova is one of those animals who makes the world a little happier simply by being himself. He is an oddball in the very best way, with the funniest expressions, a wonderfully serious demeanor, and absolutely no idea how entertaining he is. As part of our little family with his mom, Esme, and his sister, Luna, Nova brings his own special kind of silliness to everything he does. He is a consummate manspreader, enthusiastic licker, and deep thinker, even when there is absolutely nothing that requires such deep thought. Nova takes life very seriously, but thankfully, he is also exceptionally chill. He is completely comfortable wherever he happens to be and has never felt the need to cause trouble. Unlike his adventurous sister, Luna, Nova has no interest in sneaking out, and he would much rather keep the peace than start a fight. There is something wonderfully grounding about Nova. He loves his life, loves his family, and seems perfectly content to take the world as it comes. He is the kind of guy who can make an ordinary moment funny just by walking into the room and looking completely bewildered by whatever is happening. Our world is simply a sillier, happier place with Nova in it. He may spend a lot of time thinking deep thoughts, but mostly, we are just grateful that he gets to spend all his tomorrows being exactly the wonderfully weird, lovable guy he was meant to be.

Boo Boo, senior dog

Boo Boo

Sometimes the best things in life begin with a thought that seems to come out of nowhere. That's exactly how Boo found her way to me. One day in 2020, I was sitting in my car when I suddenly thought, "I should adopt a small senior dog." I sent a text to a friend who worked at a local shelter, and just minutes later, she sent me Boo's picture. An hour after that, we met for the first time, and the very next day, Boo came home. Boo arrived with more than her share of challenges. She had chronic skin, eye, and ear infections and had already been through a lot by the time we met. I honestly thought I was giving this sweet old girl a few happy months, a soft place to land, and a chance to know what it felt like to be loved. But Boo had other plans. Six years later, this very senior little lady is still going strong and, against all odds, absolutely thriving. Her health requires regular medication, frequent baths, and plenty of trips to the vet, but Boo takes it all in stride. She has shown us that sometimes a few months can turn into years, and that there can be so much more tomorrow than we ever imagined.

Piper, cat

Piper

For those who know me, you know Piper. She is my soulmate, my constant, and one of the greatest gifts of my life. Our story began in 2015, when I was stopped at a light at a six lane intersection in Hendersonville and heard a tiny kitten crying. It seemed impossible that a cat could be there, but I pulled into a parking lot and started looking. Ten minutes later, I found her curled up inside a storm drain with a storm on the way. Six hours later, after help from the fire department, police department, animal control, a councilman, the local newspaper, and a humane trap, we finally got her out. She was unbelievably tiny, with a round belly full of worms and a very dirty face. I expected a frightened feral kitten to have a hard time adjusting, but the moment I opened the trap at home, Piper walked straight into my lap. She had found me, and from that moment on, everything was a little brighter. Piper is kind, funny, wonderfully clumsy, and one of the most intuitive animals I have ever known. She quickly earned the nickname Nurse Pipes because she seems to instinctively know when someone is sick, hurt, or nearing the end of their life. She has a remarkable calm about her, and a way of quietly caring for everyone around her that I have only seen once before in another animal. I am convinced she has lived a million lives. After everything she has taught me about love, compassion, and finding light in even the hardest moments, I look up to Piper more than I can say. She is my soulmate, my constant, my forever love, and I am so grateful that all those years ago, a tiny kitten in a storm drain found her way into my life.

Batman, chicken

Batman

When Batman first joined our family in 2026, he was afraid of just about everything. Silkie chickens are known for having big personalities, and this little guy definitely landed on the shy end of the spectrum. Everything around him was new, and it took some time for Batman to discover that he was finally somewhere safe. Little by little, Batman began to come out of his shell. He found a best friend in Ruby and started venturing out into the yard, discovering the simple joys of feeling grass beneath his feet and the sunshine on his wings. It has been wonderful to watch this once timid rooster become more curious and confident with each passing day. These days, Batman is even spending more time with the pigs and Pinto, happily making his way around the farm and becoming part of the larger family. There is something especially beautiful about watching an animal realize that he no longer has anything to fear. Batman has found his forever home, and we can't wait to see what all his tomorrows bring.

Esmerelda (Esme), cat

Esmerelda (Esme)

Esme's story is one of the most beautiful examples of a mother's love that I have ever seen. When she first came to us with her two kittens, Luna and Nova, she was so incredibly thin that I honestly thought she might be some kind of exotic cat. The truth was much simpler and far more heartbreaking: Esme was a community cat who had been working tirelessly to keep her babies fed, giving them everything she had while barely eating enough to sustain herself. Once Esme and her kittens were safe, everything began to change. Today, Esme looks completely different. She has a healthy weight, a quiet confidence, and she still loves Luna and Nova with every bit of her heart. I am so proud of this little mama and the incredible job she did raising her babies, putting her own needs aside until all three of them finally had someone to care for them. Esme's happy ending grew even sweeter when Rico came home with me after an earthquake relief trip to Puerto Rico. The moment he met Esme, it was love. They have been inseparable ever since, living together like a pair of love cats and making our family just a little bit bigger. These days, Esme is a calm and content lady, and I think she knows just how special it is to finally feel safe. There is something incredibly heartwarming about seeing Esme, Luna, Nova, and Rico together, knowing that this little family gets to spend all of their tomorrows together.

Ruby, chicken

Ruby

Ruby is a girls' girl. She is calm, sweet, and has never met a person she didn't like. After nearly seven years as part of our family, she has become one of those special animals who simply makes everyone around her feel a little more at home. Ruby's days of laying eggs are happily behind her, and now she gets to spend her time doing the things that matter most: enjoying the sunshine, being with her friends, and reminding everyone that life can be pretty wonderful when you are safe and loved. She has embraced her role as an ambassador chicken, showing everyone who meets her what a chicken's life can look like when she gets to live it on her own terms. These days, Ruby has taken a special interest in Batman. When this shy little rooster joined our family, Ruby quickly became his friend and has been helping him discover that the world is a safe place. Watching her quietly look after him has been such a beautiful thing to see. Ruby is living her elder years surrounded by her best friends, doing exactly what she loves and showing everyone around her how good life can be. There may be no better ambassador for a happy tomorrow than our sweet Ruby.

Benjamin (Benny), pig

Benjamin (Benny)

Benny was just a tiny piglet when someone gave him as a Christmas present to a family member. He was much too young to be away from his mother, but like so many piglets sold as "mini pigs," he was taken from her far too soon. Benny escaped almost immediately and was left on his own in the mountains of North Carolina. For two weeks, this tiny baby survived by scrounging for food in a parking lot until animal control was finally able to catch him. A friend of mine, another animal rescuer, heard about Benny and sent me a picture. It was the beginning of a very different tomorrow for this little pig. Benny came to the farm, and we soon discovered that behind that tough little exterior was a pig who loved attention, had a serious appreciation for food, and was completely delighted by a good mud pit. These days, Benny is very much his own guy. He is fiercely independent, fiercely enthusiastic about mealtime, and absolutely knows how to enjoy himself. After the way his life began, watching Benny happily covered in mud, surrounded by everything he needs, is exactly the kind of tomorrow we hope for every animal who comes through our doors.

Oskar, cat

Oskar

Sometimes you can fall in love with an animal before you ever meet them. That's exactly what happened with Oskar. Back in 2012, I saw his photo on the Henderson County Shelter website and immediately knew there was something special about him. He was already a grown cat and had been waiting at the shelter for almost a year. I couldn't understand how someone as handsome as Oskar had been overlooked for so long, so I knew he needed to come home. Oskar has always been a peacemaker. He has a gentle way about him that makes everyone feel welcome, and whenever we have foster kittens, he seems to know exactly what they need. He has become the best surrogate mom of the bunch, patiently looking after little ones and making sure they know they are safe. He is also a bit of a homebody. The outside world makes Oskar nervous, which is perfectly fine with him because he would much rather be curled up somewhere cozy with the people he loves. He has an especially funny relationship with water and will happily turn just about any opportunity involving water into his own personal entertainment. After all these years, Oskar is still one of the most handsome guys I know. He has spent so many tomorrows being exactly who he is: a gentle peacemaker, a devoted friend, and a wonderfully cuddly member of our family.

Layla, cat

Layla

Five years ago, our sweet baby Layla came to us at three years old, just three days after her birthday. We both saw her and instantly knew she was the one for us to love and take care of. She's calm, quiet, and loves to do things her way. Layla came to us from a humane society, originally as a support animal, but she ultimately became both of ours, our sweet eight year old baby.

Snow White, cat

Snow White

Snow White came to us two years ago at around six months old, from my cousin who didn't have the room or space for her. She's a wild and energetic kid who will play with absolutely everything. Now three years old, she loves bothering her older sister until Layla finally gets annoyed enough to cave in and play with her.
